National Livestock Mission scheme guidelines

The National Livestock Mission program has been carried out by the Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairy, Government of India, from the 2014–15 fiscal year. Through the promotion of entrepreneurship in the small ruminant, poultry, and pig farming sectors as well as the fodder sector, the mission objectives support the creation of jobs. Sub-missions such as Breed Development of Livestock and Poultry, Feed and Fodder Development, and Innovation and Extension were included in the most recent recommendations. The program additionally advocates risk management practices such as farmers’ livestock insurance, applied research in priority areas of poultry, sheep, goats, feed, and fodder, and skill-based training and technology distribution to lower production costs and boost livestock sector output.
