Maharashtra Imbalance Report: English & Marathi

In 2013, the Kelkar Committee submitted a report on Maharashtra’s regional imbalance. Vijay Kelkar, an Indian economist, led the group when it was formed in May 2011. A wide range of topics were considered in the committee’s investigation, including irrigation, business, industries, education, agriculture, private investment, and self-employment. In order to address the state’s development issues, the report suggested the following policy measures: Particular actions for tribal and water-stressed areas, measures to provide universal health care through policy, and policies to guarantee everyone has access to clean drinking water. One of the key policy objectives of the State of Maharashtra is to achieve balanced regional development. This report aims to highlight the intricacies of the problems at hand and suggests a multifaceted strategy to accomplish balanced regional development in a sustainable manner.
