Exam anxiety and burnout’s effects on competitive exam candidates

Aspirants of competitive exams experience heavy pressure, stress, anxiety, and depressive symptoms and are likely to have poor mental state. A research report published by ‘The International Journal of Indian Psychology’ shows that among competitive exam candidates, potential to perform fully is predicted by trait anxiety, aspects of exam anxiety, and cognitive impairment – factors of burnout and exam anxiety, respectively. State anxiety has a favourable correlation with academic self-efficacy, whereas trait anxiety and cognitive impairment have a negative correlation.
